MKV R32 Engine Problem

OliH - mine (albeit MKIV) makes a rattle from the manifold downpipes where it connects to the cats. It seems the weld on the flange has started to break. At first it was very difficult to pinpoint but with more miles has become obvious. Could it be something similar?

And stones have a way of finding themselves in the strangest of places - ask RS32 when he found one in the rear suspension wishbone that would only rattle under certain conditions.

Fingers crossed its nothing too serious.

Thanks guys, I had my 'top' technician look at it and it sounds like it is definately internal - just behind the sump area - he used the old 'screwdriver to the ear' to focus in on the noise.

Still its booked in at 830 tomorrow morning and is going straight onto the ramp so I can show the technician the noise
