Hi everyone,

It's actually Chris here, Insurance Jon's bruv (signed in on his account!), who took the photo of his RS4. Firstly, thanks for all the great comments about the photo! i never realised it had that much potential to be honest!

As Jon said that shot wasn't that exspensive at all really, it's was only one jessops flash gun that fired several times and no where near what one of the Speedlite's cost that Sven mentioned nevermind 4!! But it's amazing what you can learn as you go along in photography and what results you can acheive!

As Jon said i don't mean to crash stephens thread but here's a couple I've taken over the last year on the same sony cybershot camera:

This was i took of my New Beetle's ineterior at night ^

This one of my bug was taken in a similar way to the RS4 but didn't work quite as well because of the outdoor lighting ^

One more experimental shot I took last night in Leeds of a Boxster:

I'm now about to move on to more professional standard of Digital Camera in SLR format, the Nikon D100, so I'm hoping to see a great difference in image quality... for the money it's costing I should hope I do. But it is needed if I want to move on to magazine publication work.

Regards,

Chris

Very cool pics Chris, and respect for that! notworthy.gif

The RS4 must not have been easy to use a flash several times in pitch black and not lose y'r sense of direction... Or was there still some (evening) light when you took it?

BTW, what did you use to light the inside of that RS4?

Good luck with the magazine work! cool.gif

Hi Chris....

Thanks for your input mate, I'm very impressed with your work. You're definitely heading in the right direction.

I like the use of colour in your night pics....the RS4 one fooled me as it fooled Sven. It's a lovely shot. Wouldn't have expected such balanced lighting and perfect exposure with simply firing the flash off around the car like that. Did you doctor it at all in photoshop to fine tune the lighting effect?

I also liked the one of your bug outside the garage. I know you mentioned you didn't create the same effect as the RS4 but the colour of the reflected light from the house along with the flash on the front combines well. I would make one suggestion though...crop out the pool of light at the top right of the photo, and the distracting leaf at the front of the car and it has much more impact. (see attached pic).

Anyway, best of luck with your photography.

Cheers,

Stephen
