R32 + points: Talented chassis, great ride and handling, 4wd stability, strong residual values. - points: fuel thirst, co2 output, engine not as punchy as BMW's, no faster than the GTI.....(bollox, according to me!) Given the type of car it is, you could by an Scooby WRX for less money and get the same 'type' of car if you understand what I mean. The R32's V6 sets it apart from the rest in this group followed by the 3.0 which again 's all over both the S3 and 'My name's Sven from Schveeded and I drive a Volvo'. Well that's my thought anyway! At least that's my excuse for not buying a car that looks like it's been shagged by a moose from behind. Don't start all this "R32 is better than the S3" stuff again. They're different cars. Suspect the reduced time is due to the weight, the S3 is about 120 Kg's lghter than the R32 with DSG I believe.
