No, not another DBP R32 pic. At least I can understand how this one works:

(Nearly DBP though)

..and I only fix cars where you wash your hands BEFORE you work on the engine grin.gif

...in 1967 this was the SMALL steering wheel option!

(Imp door handles, 1100 door pulls, Herald steering column, Morris ashtray, Cortina choke knob, Rover switches & light, Ford Anglia heater, Aston Martin bonnet pulls. The ultimate parts bin car)

After seeing this thread I started looking through my old pics. I ended up with more of a chronological history than just my one favourite pic but here goes anyway.

My Amulet red TT :

It was fresh out the tin back in March '01 (even if it did get delivered with the wrong registration!)

TT0.jpg

We used it as an everyday car plus it was used on European driving holidays. This pic was from Audi UK's first ever Champagne trip.

I always intended to use the car to the full so along with Euro cruises and the daily use, it was used for trackdays and trips to the 'ring. MOST of the time I drove home but on one occasion the car stayed in Germany a little longer than intended due to a small incident crazy.gif

TT2.jpg

After the repair it still drove as new so I decided to keep it. The wheels got changed plus it was lowered, Milltek'ed etc and it made it even more fun on track and on our tours.

The final change of wheels was the RS6 ones. I think they suited it best.

We then started planning having a family so needed something a bit more sensible.

Somehow I managed to get away with passing a 395bhp S4 off as sensible. I got it when it was 5 months old from Big Jon (of DriveTrain fame - in fact it's his TTR above) as he wanted a soft top.

This pic is of my Brillant red S4 with an American version. I guess you don't see Euro and US side by side too often. It was owned by a guy serving in the US forces and based in the UK.

Of course it also had to undertake all the things the TT did (plus baby duties) so it continues to help feed the habit of 'ring trips. With a kiddy at home there's an added incentive to keep this one on the tarmac!!

This is actually the last pic of my Mrs before she fell pregnant. May be the 'ring has more to answer for than we realised!

S42.jpg

Before too long the itch that has to be scratched occurred and I changed from the stock wheels to RS6 ones. I think they suit the car although I still think they looked best on the TT.

S43.jpg

Having a V8 under the hood and regularly having 150mph runs in Germany it led the mind to thinking about how fast it would go. After being invited to VMAX at Bruntingthorpe, I found out. I also found that the laser timing beams showed the same as my very accurate speedo (164 for the record).

And after another year the itch meant more wheels.

I wonder if I'll change them again before I change cars. grin.gif
