You've had that quite a while now? Is it going well?

Yeah :). It's coming up on 4 and a half years... which is certainly much longer than I'd normally keep a car. In that time, I've also covered nearly twice as much distance as all my previous cars combined! My priorities were changing at the time that I bought it [a path which I've continued down] and it has always basically ticked all the boxes. I still think it looks good and it's just about brisk enough to be interesting. It's been totally reliable, maintenance costs have been little more than an annual service and I get reasonable MPG out of it. Actually, after I had a hire car for a couple of weeks while mine was off the road being repaired after I was hit by an uninsured driver, I found I only got 1 MPG more out of a 1.2i Corsa, lol. Within a couple of weeks it'll hit 70k miles, nearly half of those with me. I suspect I won't have it for another 4 years/30k miles, but for the moment I'm happy with it :).

Well here's my new car.

A 6 and half year old A4 SE S Line Quattro special edition, with Sat Nav, full leather, xenons. It has been owned by a TSN member since new and has covered 51,800 miles.

it is immaculate inside and 99.9% outside (hey, it would shame cars that are a year old).

Sorry if it looks dirty Ive done 500+ miles in it in the last 26 hours :eclipse:

How's it feeling having gone over 70mph for the first time (the car not you) ? :P:grin:

Naughty. There a pleasant little kick after 4750 rpm, it took me 1.5 hours of A1 road before I found out due to a convoy of Vickers finest war machines travelling south. That said Newcastle to London in just over 4 hours was okay given the initial delays..

Is that the first time it's ever been parked on the street, and left to the elements?

The poor thing won't know what's happened to it. Motorways, a month's mileage in 24 hours, left to shiver on the street :uhoh:

And it was shinier than that when it left!

I hope it brings Chri5 as much pleasure as it brought me, it's been a cracking car.

The engine has definitely loosened up with time, moreso after 30k miles (which took me almost 4 years to reach unfortunately :roflmao:). One of the things I liked about that engine is a large lump of the torque is available almost up to the red line and it can still pull hard at >4500rpm.

It needs the roofbars fitted though :D

Don't do what I did which was fit them, and a load of bike carriers, then lose the keys for almost 6 months :crackpipe:

And there's a picture of my new car below. But it's white* so you can't see it :P

First impressions are very good; I even coaxed over 30mpg out of it on the way home.

* it was parked next to a solid Ibis white car when I got there. Having decided on white, I'm so pleased I went for metallic white, it looks so much better, in my opinion.
