Parking at Goodwood today wasn't Evora friendly. :roflmao:

Didn't help with the marshal directing us all towards the boggiest patch of grass possible, and then buggering off once a Bentley Continental GT, Aston Martin, Citroen Berlingo and myself were all stranded!

Tractor dragged us to a space with a gap in the fence to park up, and then a few kind passers by gave us a push start when we were leaving.

Elise out on track at Silverstone.

Was going well until it blew a load of coolant out in the first afternoon session. :(

Think it was just a duff coolant expansion tank cap - seal goes and coolant boils. Had a spare so let it cool off, topped back up and popped a new one on, but didn't risk taking it back out on track afterwards and headed home - didn't want to disrupt the running for others and easier to call the AA to the A34 than the Silverstone paddock. ;)

Plans now a foot to give the car a fairly through refresh (it is 20 years after all), including switching to a S2 VVC engine with 160bhp or so.

Dropping coolant all over the track - we’ve all been there!

Fortunately not - was boiling it out the expansion cap so noticed steam coming out the engine cover.

Shame as didn't think I was going round too badly for first time on track in 7 years up to that point.

Type-R engines are a nice option, but £11,750 inc VAT for a turn key installation from MSC is more than I want to spend. Also traditionally driveshafts are a bit of an issue with converted cars as the angles aren't ideal on converted K-series cars.

20 years old, and over half of that must have been under your ownership by now?  Refresh sounds fun.  +++

PS.  Full size number plate?  Whats going on there?  Thought you'd ditched that years ago and gone for a stick on plate

10 years in March, so definitely its longest term owner. Only 20,000 miles in that time though!

I ran no front plate at all for a number of years as I got fed up of knocking them off and losing them. Never had a smaller/stick on one, just kept one in the boot.

Put it back on a few years ago (along with an original plinth) as the missus refused to drive the car without it.
