rob77
Im looking to put some monitors into the headrests of my car to run of my pioneer dvd/sat nav, have any of you guys already had this type of work done and if so what size screens fit best.i assume the rests wont take anything bigger than a 6 inch screen?i dont know if a roof mounted unit would be any good or if the sunroof would make fitment difficult. Atomic
What model is your 8? There is a specific kit to fit the D2's in terms of a clamp etc. that attached to the sunroof cage to provide stability and a cage to go in the boot with a cover, kinda like the one for the CD changer etc. Not sure what the story is with the D3's. In terms of the headrest options, the sony with the fittings on the bars look quite good and they are removeable if you want to swap em out onto another car. Ska
what about running the cables from the head rest monitor to through the recaros I'd be worried about that. But from what an ICE dealer told me it was far easier to install a roof monitor and proly cheaper as they dont need to remove the entire roof lining... In the end I chickened out and put the rear monitor behind the central armrests
Will22
I don't like the headrest ones, little fcukers see them and steel them. I have the one in the middle of the roof that folds down
Atomic
I'm pretty sure they would try to steal em even if they were the fitted ones. They's just life the headrests out... or try :|
craigyb
The beauty of the drop down is it cannot be seen when stood next to the car, you really have to look for it.

rob77
roof top moniter it is then, when i originally thought about headrest moniters i was going to get the windows tinted but since that is a complete arse about a roof moniter would be best and at least it can be closed and out of sight

Will22
Only problem I have noticed with my screen is that when it's down you can't see dam all out of the back window.
craigyb
Yeah, there is that problem. but still cheaper than smashed window and damaged haed rests.
