chipandpin
my bloomin exhaust strap has fallen off!! ive still got the actual strap but not the bolt that holds it to the hanger - where could i get this bolt from online? Also, will it do any damage riding in the short term without the exhaust strapped to the hanger?
R32Ash
I'd try your dealer for the proper bolt. They aren't mega expensive for parts like that; well they weren't when I needed bits for my CBR. Could you not do a bodge repair for now using a cable tie (or similar) from the bolt hole in the strap to the hole under the passenger peg? I suppose you'd have the problem of the strap sliding around and scratching the can though. IIRC the standard cans are pretty heavy and I suppose could, in theory, bend the pipe if not supported. Edited to add that there's a website Hondaspares.com which claims to have 'everything' but I haven't tried them personally.

Omi
Honda? Try David Silver... Google will answer the obvious question there. Great service, fast, and priced reasonably. Alternatively, go get a suitable nut/bolt from any fixings shop locally as a stop-gap.
chipandpin
right, got the bolt, fastened it on and now the bike wont start!! im wondering if its something to do with the immobiliser - Datatool Vito Evo with movement sensor. Once i'd fixed the bolt, the starter was turning over but not starting, just making a clicking sound. Removed the strap and now it wont even turn over - when i turn the ignition to on the clocks dont do anything, the rev counter should swing round then back to 0 and the speedo should count down from 180mph to 0, but nothing is happening!! Omi
Hehehe, time to give your local dealer some money then.... You've tried the obvious, reset and disarm the alarm/immob.?

[/ QUOTE ] yep - just tried it again and now the clocks are going round - i've taken the battery off and put it on charge - hopefully it's just going to be a dead battery. Lee_
Killswitch is also one to watch out for, many simply cut the ignition but still allow you to crank over.
