mlhj83
Oh no people are leaving one by one. Oh well nvrmind, it was meant to be a trial event anyway. However, anyone is welcome to come along. Again, just be there by 12-12.30am.
mlhj83
Hello chaps, it was a pitty no one was able to come for the meet. So it was just me and my friend in his evo. I guess it was a little short notice for some and it does seem like most of you would be available for the next weekend. So shall we make it the Saturday the 7th of April? Meeting point will still be the same.

sitas3
I was out last night/early this morning around Alton. Some good roads but sadly some getting hit with 50mph limits now..
mlhj83
Don't worry, the majority of my routes are national speed limit.
sitas3
excellent - I will look forward to this Saturday. I've probably been on some of them already.. Years ago before going to college a group us used to do the same thing 'up north' around the Trough of Bowland roads in Lancashire. Great stuff. sitas3
John and myself had another jaunt around the 'b' roads of central Hampshire early this morning for a few hours - we need to be careful out there on these country roads as we both very nearly collected a few deer! mlhj83
Most certainly. Road signs indicating potential wild animals do help, coupled with the liberal use of ones horn every now and then when on straight roads. Plus keeping enough distance between each car. mlhj83
Nice to meet you Simon! Absolutely brilliant car you got there. Overall, it was a brilliant drive through some really nice roads. No hair raising moments, but definitely hair raising sounds of 2 very loud 6 cyclinder engines . The CSL is in a league of its own although my lightly modded R32 managed to keep up through the twisties. Look forward to seeing you and John next time round. mlhj83
Oh yes, I'll definitely be doing it again. I'm up for it this friday or saturday night if anyone is interested. Meeting point will be the same again.
sitas3
yes was nice meeting up Marcus - some good roads down there although I was fearing for my front bumper at times!
mlhj83
[ QUOTE ] yes was nice meeting up Marcus - some good roads down there although I was fearing for my front bumper at times! [/ QUOTE ] Especially when your bumper is so low. Guess the CSL is primarily a track day weapon rather than a b-road blaster.
sitas3
Actually the CSL was at home on those roads (and was surprised at how well it handled the bumpy bends) but it was the wildlife that I feared. The CSL front bumper is £2k upwards and a rabbit strike is enough to crack the thing!
mlhj83
Sorry I didn't mean to say that the CSL can't handle those roads, just meant that the car was not designed to cope with potential hazards (small wildlife, road debris etc) one would encounter on those country roads.
