My journey to work is some 4 minutes in the car, but due to it being 98% dual carriageway, it'd take me near an hour to walk it. So, I was thinking maybe I could get something of the two wheel variety, cheapos cheapos, and use that. Problem is, I know diddly squat about bikes! I mean, nada, zilch, not a sausage. Is it still the case that you can drive a 49cc or a standard car license, or do I need to do CBT? And what's good to go for considering I only need affectively a pushbike with an engine?

you need the CBT i think or there is the direct access test which will let you on a bike.

When you are i would get an aprilia sr or a gilera dna these are both realible and nippy bikes. Dont get an italjet or you will only complete 26 seconds of you 4 minute ride before you end up in a hedge or break down.

If you passed your full car licence then you can ride a moped (<50CC <50KPH) without L plates or CBT...... DVLA Linky Not got a clue what would class as a "good" ped tho.....

Reet - so I can ride a 49cc as is. Cool.

yes dont buy a moped get a direct course done should take about 2 months to get a licence, and buy a proper bike i did. it was the best thing ive ever done. only one thing beats a fast car thats a really fast bike much more fun
