I have found out today by chance that there is an Audi recall on my A3(04reg)due to problems with the wiper motor. It's not listed anywhere as a recall and as I said I found out by chance when asking about another Audi recall concerning the flywheel, which mine might possibly be one of the affected, they are checking and will do the work if necessary when it has its wiper motor replaced next week. The thing is that if I wasn't at home today idly surfing the net and just being inquisitive I wouldn't know about any of this, which to my mind is crap customer service from Audi, the car was in the garage in Jan for some minor warranty work, they have me on their records and I'm not hard to get in contact with so shame on them for not being on the ball.

The reason its not listed as a recall is because it isn't a recall. It's a Workshop Campaign which is carried out as and when vehicles arrive at Centres. You're car isn't affected by the Flywheel recall either as its a 3.2Q

So not really crap service from Audi is it...?

[/ QUOTE ] Well actually it is,the car has been into the local stealers 3 times this year, plus I've had a test drive in a S3,with lengthy discussions about deals and mailshots from head office concerning extended warranty. So I think they had ample opportunity to raise this issue with me.Regarding the flywheel you might know that my car is not affected by that recall, and I thank you for the info, but Audi UK didn't know and as of my talk with the local garage this morning they didn't know either.

The Sales department don't book cars in for work, so they wouldn't pick up on it to be honest.

Was the vehicle taken into the Servicing area at any point in the last 6 weeks for Warranty Work or Servicing? The Campaign was only announced that time and besides which. It's actually a goodwill gesture on Behalf of Audi GMBH because they had a faulty batch in the very early stages of the A3's life. If anything your current wiper motor could last the life of the car. But Audi obviously care that much that they are going to the bother to replace it FOC

Talk about looking a gifthorse in the mouth... coffee.gif

It has been in their workshop in the last six weeks, and twice had the service details pulled from records in my presence in the service dept,so an opportunity was there.Your faith in Audi to do the right thing...eventually is admirable,me Im a sceptic and through having the piss taken at a couple of dealerships in the past wouldn't trust them to be that competent
