BIG LOL at this post, thanks for making me smile on a real hard crappy day at work!!!...LOL.. fantastic post!!

My thoughts are go for it, if she is moving anyway then sod it, and if she is flirting and up for it, then she dont deserve a bloke who puts a ring on her finger!!!!

I'm moving jobs. She'll still be here.

I'd also prefer her ring round my finger shocked.gifwink.gif

interesting dilemma sat. I'd personally stay away if shes engaged. I'm also punjabi, Sikh and don't think it says anywhere in Sikhism we are meant to marry someone of the same race religion etc as it focuses on everyone being equal. I know of people who have married non Sikhs at my local gurdwara for instance. I could be wrong but I think its more of a traditional thing. 169144-ok.gif

That's what it is. The old Indian culture thing of caste and religions being used to divide people. Personally, I'm not bothered who I get married to. I just want to keep my mum happy. My bro got married recently and my mum was really happy. My sis got married about 5 years ago and she was really happy then too. Both were arranged marriages.

I understand your situation all depends on how strict your parents are, I think generally people are becoming abit more laid back, the whole jatt, tharkhan caste thing doesn't apply much anymore especially out of India , but is still brought up a lot.

All the best 169144-ok.gif

My mum isn't strict. She actually asked me if I wanted an arranged marriage and when. So I said that I would try to find a girl but if I didn't find one by 25 then I'd go for it. She's cool though. A lot better than some other parents I know.

Ha.. dont worry about the age thing man.. I got married almost a year ago last April at the age of 26... It dont mean jack as long as your happy.

Just cos you told your mother you will wait till then dont mean that you have to stop looking while she is on the hunt for you as well.

Arranged marriages are always a nice backup for when you give up looking yourself. Just remember that you will never be lonely whilst holding a British Passport! ahahaha lol.gif

Nah, I told my mum to look but not to get anything set in stone. Already seen a few girls who are really nice-looking but are a bit snobby. Most of those girls seem to be from London though EEK2.GIF It's just that other family members are trying to get me set up too. Next week will be prime set up time as it's a major festival for Sikhs so will be a large gathering on Sunday up here. It'll be like a cattle market for all the eligible bachelors and bachelorettes.
