hoofboy
I am about to order a 2.0T TT s-tronic, what are your views on white as a colour to go for. They had a roadster in the showroom in white and i have seen this pic: http://usedcars.audi.co.uk/carview.aspx?id=501397330# I have asked about resale value and the manager said that he would value a white TT the same as black or red, I questioned this as I know yellow cars are often valued less. What do you think? White or not?
Alastair_A3
Im not sure whether thats true as my local dealer often has white cars sitting around for ages. Surely the part ex would be lower It would look lovely but fear the cleaning
Scotty
I think white looks good. See here for some pics (you need to register though) http://www.tt-forum.co.uk/ttforumbbs/viewtopic.php?t=84839&start=
hoofboy
Thanks for your views, I agree, Im sure it will be harder to sell come part x time. The stealers really want me to get one in white, they say once people see it around they will sell more, they haven't sold a single white one in lincoln. shao_khan
The one we have on order is White - I think it looks ace in White - and TBH if its worth a bit less - so what? you got to drive something you love and got to specify and I think thats worth it in the long term. Hmmmmmm, now you mention yellow I might need to change......

[/ QUOTE ] When I ordered the Cayman - started with red, then silver and changed to yellow - I couldnt give a toss about its worth in the future - it will be worth what £500 less? Enjoy yourself and get exactly what you like mate - the white looks superb - have a look at Nathans gallery there is a white TT gleaming in the sun in there. Good luck with whatever you go for! hoofboy
Thanks for your comments windfall and shao, thats what i wanted to hear to be honest. Shao, what options have you gone for, I'm especially interested in what wheels you have gone for.
Scotty
Wheels - I really don't like the turbines. I think it's because on one side of the car they cut through the air and on the other side the spokes trail....if that makes sense.
hoofboy
I don't dislike the turbines, but for over £1000 I wouldn't consider them, I really like the 10 spoke bi-colour, cheaper than the turbines and better looking IMO. I will probably stick with the standard wheels, I think the optional ones are all overpriced!
lordlee
the standard rims look awful imho. 18's are a must.
encee
hoofboy, here`s a quick pic of mine; make your own mind up...... Oh, and I agree with what others have said; buy the car YOU want, not a car for the next buyer, and if it`s worth a few hundred quid less when you come to part-ex it, well, so be-it. Worth bearing in mind that the major manufacturers are all releasing a white version in their "premium" cars, so they must think there`s a market for white. Good luck. garcon magnifique
I think it looks great in white. In terms of resale I think you have to seriously consider how long you plan to keep it. White is definitely the new black right now, but in two years time it could be just as unfashionable as it was two years ago. If you're likely to change again in less than two years then don't worry about the resale. If longer, then be ready to take a hit.
lottiefox
The TT suits white IMO, really looks good but it will be more affected by the wheel choice than some other colours I think. The RS4 style really work well with the Ibis white but I think the bi-colours will also look good. I'm not sold on turbines at all. I've got the standard wheels on mine as it is a car to use til the TT-S comes out next year and the other spec was what I wanted, and I needed to find one in the space of about 6 days a few weeks back as I was car-less!!. I don't hate them and to be honest they give a great ride and I am liberated from fear of kerbing after living with the TTqS wheels for 2 years!! What colour interior would you go for with the white? encee's magma looks very good. S-tronic is a great choice though, very competent system and delivers great fun in S mode or with the paddles. [/ QUOTE ] Going for Ibis White Lottie ?, you`ll not regret it ! You wouldn`t believe the number of positive comments about this car since I bought it. The Magma does look very good in it too, as it livens up the interior, without being garish like other reds I`ve seen in the past......
