Mk5 R32 - Which colour should I get?

Choosing the colour is the hardest bit. The R just looks ace in all colours (as does the GTI). Every time I 'decide' on a colour, I come home to find someone's posted pics of a different colour and I end up changing my mind. As I'm typing this I'm looking at that Shadow Blue one - it looks the gonads and it's not even on my shortlist!

I fiddle'nd on about this myself for ages.

The DBP looks really good in the rain and winter but not so good in the sun. Silver is too common. S/Blue doesn't suit it to my mind and black is becoming the new silver (i've seen soooo many 06/07 poo motors in black). Grey is good normally, but the VW steel grey is very drab.

I wanted white, WHY cant we get it in white?!!! Got black in the end, boring but no regrets.

best of luck

DBP is my fav at the moment very close followed by shadow blue.

I have a shadow blue GTI and its amazing how many people on the road don't see it coming and pull out. Dark colours are a real pain for this.

Were as theres a deep blue pearl R32 3 door near me and it beams as it comes towards you. You cannot really miss it.

DBP is my favourite but its not as limited as we all think. There are some VAG cars available in this colour, but on the whole, its rarer than black.

Black suits the MKV really well, especially in 3dr, as it disguises the MKVs bulk, especially from side on, and the chrome grill actually works on the black, but it seems everyone is getting black, and its probably a pig to keep clean and prevent scratches/swirling.

Hixsters looks awesome in the flesh as well.
