RedRobin
Aren't the Goodyear GS3D's also known as F1 Eagles? - If so, I thought I had read posts which reported them as having more road noise .
OzGTI
Yes Red, the GS3D's are also known as Goodyear F1. I can't say whether they are noisier on UK tarmac than the Conti's but I was really pleased with the noise levels of the Goodyears after changing to the 18's. There is a significant difference in the materials used on Australian roads compared to those in the UK. Our bitumen is very coarse compared to most of the roads I've driven on in England and Scotland. Often it is like a gravel toping that has been dippedinto tar to make it sticck in place. UK roads generally seem to have a more 'filled' surface. Sometimes German Autobahn designed things don't have the compliance needed for our environment - like Audi ride, BMW run flats etc. Though both the Conti's and the Goodyears are German designed and made. I think this different road material might be reason why I have a different opinion on the Goodyears to those held in the UK.
