chipandpin
i bought a new lid today, got it home and left in on for 20 minutes or so, and got a headache. It felt okay in the shop, but there is no way i can wear it for extended periods of time. Where do i stand with returning it? Its exactly as i received it with the plastic label untouched on the visor etc. Will they be okay about swapping it for next size up, as ive heard that once a helmet leaves the shop, most won't return it under any circumstances for health and safety reasons. DukeDesmo
What make of lid? If they won't change it some lids have replaceable liners which are available in different thicknesses. I replaced the liner in my RX7 for a thinner one as it was a tad on the tight side and didn't give as I expected, made a world of difference. chipandpin
its an AGV Kinetic. Should there be much give? it does feel tight but if headaches start within 20 minutes, does this mean its def too small or should it ease up a bit over time? SneakyMcC
You need to find the correct shape for your head. It should be over snug so when it beds in, its then snug. As long as you take it back immediately and swap it for summit'else. I doubt there'd be a prob? The shop you have suggested you wear it for some time when trying the lid on. DukeDesmo
Most lids give after time, I have a Shoei which has given so much that it's too big but my Arai has not given at all (unless my head's grown!) which is why I ended up buying the thinner liner. R32Ash
[ QUOTE ] ...ive heard that once a helmet leaves the shop, most won't return it under any circumstances for health and safety reasons. [/ QUOTE ] I suppose it would make sense for them not to accept a return - if you had dropped it on a carpeted floor (for example) it could have invisible damage and then leave them potentially open to re-selling a safety item that's not up to the job. I'd echo what others have said though, helmets do seem to 'bed in' a little, and you might find that it becomes more comfortable. Trying to swap it for another is certainly worth a go, though.
