Seven R1's!!!!! Why do you sell and replace them with the latest model? Surely that's expensive and with only minimal benefit confused.gif

The same could be said about half the posts in general cars Scotty tongue.gif

Can't wait to have a go on the '07 R1 and 1098. TBH though I know what one I'll prefer and it's only got half an engine wink.gif

Welcome Rob and do keep us posted on the R1 169144-ok.gif

I know what you mean but I don't know anyone who changes cars for the same model every facelift.

I wasn't having a dig. It was a genuine question 169144-ok.gif

it wasnt a case of changing for the sake of it ive always had a need to ride various bikes to see what i might be missing out on.ive had a KWAK ZXR750/GSXR 750/K3/K4/GSXR 1000/RSVR MILLE/FIRBLADE/BMW1150 GS ADVENTURE(that was my touring faze)i always keep going back to the YAM R1 its seems to do everything i need in a superbike. luv it smlove2.gif

It seems to be a thing with some bikers - there's always something that might be a bit better. I think it's because 75%+ (in my estimation) of the reason for buying a bike is the dynamics and the other 25% is the looks.

When buying a car, most of us weigh up a lot of different factors and so come to a compromise. With bikes, it can be a simple case of wanting the ultimate machine available at any given time.

A guy I know started this year off with a newish GSXR 750, chopped that in for a brand new ZX10R, decided a new GSXR 1000 might be just a bit better and so swapped for that 8 weeks later. I wouldn't be suprised if he changes again next year!

the guy i bought the R1 from had just taxed it put on new rubber and serviced it, then passing a suzuki dealers spotted the new GSXR 1000 SP went in and bought it, so i see your point about wanting the next best thrill.the S8 never got used sneakymcc so it was wasted really 10/12 miles a week if it was lucky(thats driving but could also be mpg)so the wife got a new mini cooper and shes over the moon(sad cow) and i get a bike i think i got the better end of the deal. the_finger.gif
