R32Ash
Can't beat getting started at a young age. I was riding competitively (club meetings) at 8 y/o, myself. I think it's even more important these days, Mort - none of the current top riders will have started riding in their teens or later, I'm sure. It'll start getting expensive of course. Woppum
Great fun but a dangerous sport. I was fecking about on crossers too when I was that age. By the time I was 14 almost giving my mum a heart attack every weekend from jumping a zillion miles in to the air. Conveniently my bike got stolen... petsar68
Great bikes the Yammy TTR's. Is that the 90 as it looks bigger than my lads 50? One of the beauties of NZ is all that space for the kids!!

petsar68
Yeah, cracking little bikes but my lad finds it hard to change gear on his. More Weetabix perhaps!
Mort
Yep - my boy has the same problem with the gear change. I've moved the gear lever a few degrees around the shaft to allow him to get his boot under. Also I've moved it slightly outwards along the shaft to clear the crankcase. Its still quite stiff but it gives him more leverage. I'm thinking an oil change may help...
