Thorburn
Building up a server for my house when I move out in a couple weeks (Pentium M 1.6GHz, 1GB DDR2, 400GB storage, etc) and have downloaded both Ubuntu Linux 7.04 and the Release Candidate of Windows Home Server. Unfortunately my case, PSU and RAID card have been delayed (4 days late and counting, thanks Scan ) so was wondering if anyone on here had played with Windows Home Server. It seems a very tempting and suitable product for what I to do (mostly to give me a centralised storage for my data and connect back home to access stuff when I'm travelling). My main concern is while I'm sure its going to work very well with Vista my laptop is remaining XP for the forseeable future and so it has to play nicely with this, but really any views on it would be great. Sponge
Windows Home Server, looks interesting. Is it an open beta test? I appear to be downloading a RC, but I'm not sure if it's the most recent one.
Sparky
Been using this since beta 1 and it's very impressive, if only in how simple it makes it for the user. Not had any stability issues either.
RobK
Looks quite interesting. You can apparently get it here.
Sponge
Yeah, that's where I got mine. I've just finished installing it and after 5 minutes extensive testing I can confidently say it's very, very, OK so far. It was a little confusing though. The website says it's invite only, but then further down the page there is a link to a download. Am I missing something?
