Holy crap! Alfa are doing the gt blackline for less than 17k! Yes for that price you only get a 1.8, but look at the spec!!

grin.gif I had a GT Blackline hire car in Vienna a few months back (black, black leather, Bose etc) - it was the diesel and a very nice place to sit. The reliability must be better if companies are willing to use them as hire cars 169144-ok.gif

Hmmmm. I was a bit disappointed, tbh. The car looks absolutely feckin luverley (it was the dark grey metallic one with red leather interior) and the build quality is miles better than I ever remember in any of the older Alfas.

The handling's OK, but it understeers like a pig and I just think it's a bit slow. I've got no idea what the 0-60 is, about 7s IIRC, but it just needs more grunt. I asked about the JTD option (which should have some decent torque being a diesel) after the test drive and the salesman said that he wouldn't bother if I thought the 3.2 was slow.

Damn, and I really fancied one. Brera S perhaps? Those 19" wheels look the dogs bollox and when I saw about 20 of them lined up at the Prodrive test track a couple of months ago, the car looks even better. Not red for me though - got to be dark grey metallic.

Would I buy one? If it was on looks alone, the answer would, without doubt be yes. But as an overall package and as an enjoyable driver's car, I'm afraid the answer's no.

Bugger :(

Mook for me the 159 is awesome I sat in the Brera in the show room and was abit cramped for me, my knee hit the cruise stick, so was not to optimisic about the 159 test drive...

All I can say is I WANT ONE NOW!!!! Everything about the car is great, love the drive and feel and the fact everyone young old male and female stare at the car. Also the fact that they are not 2 apenny like Audi's and BMW's. Best part was a chap in a new BMW stared as he drove past when the car was parked up. I just love everything about this car.. I was not overly impressed when I just sat in but after a few hours it was just sublime.

Also the customer service was great aswell.

Oh well, good and bad reviews from different models.

Personally, I'd have the 159 estate. The 2.4 JTD or 3.2 V6 - both for a decent soundtrack. Both available in 4 wheel drive I think??

You ordering one? +++

Mook, shame you weren't overly impressed. The weight should come down soon apparently.......
