CarMad
Picked up a magazine today and they were testing Spyware products. Well the product that came second was AVG's free !!(If its not being used by a business) Spyware software. It beat Spybot and Ad-aware hands down for detection rates apparently and several others that you had to pay a fair few pounds for. Anyway for those that might be concerned its another product that might help keep your PC clean. I think you still have to run it regularly like the other products but its better than nothing. I'm running a complete scan now to see what it finds. Download AVG Spyware here Free
Rustynuts
I've been using this and advocating it for ages. It used to be called Ewido antispyware, and AVG decided they needed a product to run alongside their antivirus so they bought it and rebranded it. Ari
That's the one I've just installed instead of Norton so that's great news!

Calm Chris
[ QUOTE ] That's the one I've just installed instead of Norton so that's great news! [/ QUOTE ] Ari- You might have the anti virus, but have you / did you load the spyware as well? When I loaded the anti virus 3 weeks ago, it didn't offer the Spyware element
Gren
What product won? I don't use AVG yet as it wasn't Vista compatible last time I looked. Would also recommend SuperAntiSpyware and A-Squared. Both also have free versions. Use them alongside Ad-aware and Spybot as there's nothing really out there that finds everything
Chelsea Mick
The AVG Spyware is only free for 30 days. However the AVG Anti-Virus is totaly free (allthough slightly limited) which I have been using for a couple of years and is very good
Rustynuts
"Then some important features like the resident shield and automatic-updates will be disabled". You can still use it but have to update it manually and run it once a week or so.
