DaddyDub
Slap me if im wrong, but didn't Top gear pull a Caravan with this thing and pop the head on it trying to break the Caravan towing record?
Thorburn
Probably The problem with that kind of power from that kind of capacity engine is its just plain not going to last. I'd prefer 200bhp with rock solid reliabilty to 800bhp and a service every 500 miles.
schmoo
thing is if you can afford to run a performance car then you should be able to afford the maintenance.. thats the theory anyway

Whats the point if its got to spend a week in the garage after a days driving?
schmoo
hehe never a truer word spoken, i used to own a landrover, and my fellow offroader spent more time underneath them than in them (snapped half shafts, gearbox woes, damage etc). i didnt take mine offroad too much (it was my daily drive too) but when i did, i used to break something, or dent it.. rsvmilly
Norris has also done a SWB version of the Evo with 800bhp/tonne http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=89100

[/ QUOTE ] Yep, it did blow the engine. And also it appeared on a track-day shoot out on men+motors tv, where it totally self-destructed the differentials. So thats two tv appearances, two massive failures! Not exactly a reliable 700-odd horses. I too would rather have about 300hp with better reliability!
