wyliss
Finally got around to applying some of this stuff before winter sets in. Strange stuff really you apply it with the applicator and then wipe off with an mf straight away, it says dont let it dry..... , will see the results tomorrow in daylight and will post up. Anyway back to wax, I know its a wide subject but what do you think re pinnacle versus the others on the market for around the same price (£40 ish)? CarMad
I think it depends what you want from it. Some can make a car look better, wet look or make metallics sparkle more. Others last for an age. I use Zaino Z2 Pro on the fleet, its lasts for months and months without needing to be reapplied. Great for the winter months, but then again its a sealant really apparently rather than a wax. I think NXT is great at giving a sparkle to metallics but it just doesn't last. To be honest I think you can do more with the prep right from the start to get a better finish than any real difference in a wax IMO.
steelwind101
Hi Dibbs As Carmad says if you get as good process down before the PS then you can certantly expect better results. In the market sector of PS you could look at the cheaper Zymols, Swissvax's, Victoria Wax or maybe some of the DoDo juices. The real deal is for the money the looks differ slightly but the end results are similiar. Just the same with Nattys, Max Wax, #26, etc. They all look slightly different but which one suits what you like is the question. As the waxes get more expensive (and "better") you tend to see sharper, clearer reflections with better paint colour clarity. Geoff
drpellypo
To give you an indication of how hard it is to answer that question, I have 14 waxes, and another on order. Dave KG over on DW has over 40! As Geoff says, they all have different properties, and it's all about taste. I use some waxes on certain cars, different one's on others dependent on colour, customers expectation where finish is concerned etc etc.
cheechy
I've just 'upgraded' from the Souveran to Swissvax Saphir. Souveran gives a lovely finish but just doesn't last more than a month if that. Currently finding that the Saphir looks and goes on in a similar fashion but I've been told it will last a lot longer. Its almost twice the price but if it lasts longer then its better value for money in my book
J_C
Dibbs, have you tried Pinnacle 'Signature' paste wax? s8346 recommended this to me ages ago after using it on his silver S8 and I finally got around to buying some and trying it out on my car recently: I've added another coat since these pictures were taken and I'm pleased with the results. I know yours is Akoya and not light silver, but it might be worth a try.
steelwind101
If durability is a problem with PS then check out my post on OptiSeal. Its a polymer sealant you can apply over natural waxes. What are you preping with before PS!? Geoff
R32Geordie
Waxed with Zymol Carbon Wax over 3 months ago now. Washed with Zymol Auto Wash once a month since. Kept outside this summer - still beading well.

Tarmac_Terrorist
That's amazing beading after 3 months! Maybe the cooler Summer has helped with durability.

Was thinking the same thing, do you have a garage!? I had been told the cheaper Zymols only last around 4 weeks. Geoff
drpellypo
Geoff - I had a coat (just one) of Zymol Ebony on my Passat and it beaded for two months, that's even after several foam washes with a tfr mix!
